it has more chances to make straight than any of the higher connecteds (J,Q Q,K K,A)

getting straight and facing someone with a pair of figures is a good opportunity to win many chips or even knock out a player from a tournament.


Pre-flop, in my opinion is better to not raise and never reraise, because not many flops fit well with this hand and you want to see it before losing too many chips.

This is related to bluffs.

Sometimes the game can get to a point where a player with a small stack goes all in and 2 players with more chips just make the call.

At that point, bluffing with no hand is a real dumb move, I have seen people betting with shit, like 9-high.

Lets see why:
-If player/s call or raise, you have donated your bet.
-If players/s fold, you have won nothing, because the player who went all in at first is more likely to get the pot if you had a shitty hand.

Well, you can try to get some extra chips by betting the flop and turn and then trying to make them fold at the river, but it's not worth the risk, there are better moments to bluff.

on the flop, take in mind that unless you get the third partner, your chances will be low on large tables.
